Hoa Lu, the ancient royal capital of Vietnam, is known for its beautiful relics of tombs and temples. Tam Coc offers astounding landscapes that are typical of the Ninh Binh region, and natural caves.
Pick-up at your hotel and drive south to Ninh Binh (110km, 2-hour drive from Hanoi). Enjoy the beautiful and picturesque sceneries of the rural areas on the way. Visit Hoa Lu and the temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, the two heroes who lived in the 10th century and chose this site to build the citadel of the capital city. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Then visit Tam Coc (10 km far from Hoa Lu) and get on a rowing boat paddled by villagers for a river cruise. Return transfer to Hanoi.
